I just made a fun drink called Chicha Morada and it's extremely high in antioxidants. A very good friend from Peru introduced me to this drink. Yum! It's made with maiz morado, which is a purple corn grown in Peru. In Peru you can buy it in bottles and it is considered to be a soft drink. The purple corn is simmered in water, and comes out with this amazingly deep, dark purple color. I was thinking about all of the different uses for this, including using it as a dye in other recipes. I'm going to work with the ingredients, and come up with a version using only natural fruit juices and no other added sugars. When I get a good combination I will post the recipe, and add photos too.
